Man Arrested for Murdering His Younger Brother Over N20,000

The Ondo State Police Command has arrested a man, Eze Elechi Amadi, for allegedly killing his 18-year-old younger brother, Otu Ifeanyi, during a dispute over ₦20,000 in Kajola, Odigbo Local Government Area of the state.

According to reports, the arrest was made over the weekend after a resident, Oluwafemi Oladipupo of Paragon Street, Kajola, raised alarm over a suspicious blue plastic drum with a black rope left in front of his residence. Upon police inspection, the lifeless body of Otu was discovered inside the drum.

Investigations revealed that Amadi was transporting the drum on a motorcycle in an attempt to dispose of the body before he was apprehended.

During interrogation, Amadi confessed to killing his younger brother, accusing him of transferring ₦20,000 from his Ecobank account without permission.

Confirming the incident, the State Commissioner of Police, CP Abayomi Lawal said: “The corpse has been deposited at the mortuary while further investigation is ongoing. The suspect will be charged to court upon conclusion of the investigation,”
