14-Year-Old Genius Becomes Youngest Boy to Gain Admission to Imperial College

A 14-year-old prodigy, Elias Kim, has made headlines after being admitted into Imperial College London to study Biomedical Engineering, making him one of the youngest geniuses to attend the prestigious institution — and alongside his older sisters.

Unlike most first-year students, Elias won’t be joining in the Freshers’ Week parties, but he is thrilled to swap his daily bus rides to school for a commute to the capital with his siblings, who are also enrolled at Imperial.

Speaking about his excitement, Elias said:“I’ve interacted with older people ever since I was young.

“I’m confident with making new, older friends.

“It’s going to be an exciting adventure.

“My friends have cheered me on for my success and said they are relieved to have a ‘smart’ person who can help them when they need it.”
Excited, his sister, Clara said: “We’re a decade apart from Elias, yet he’s almost at the same stage of life that we are.

“It’ll be a brand new experience going to university with him for sure.

“And we are excited.

“He is, too, as he can’t wait to explore the capital.”

When he was in primary school, he was a champion in chess and in primary school, he skipped straight to year three after nursery.

During that time, his family quickly noticed his extraordinary abilities and how different he was from other children. Recognizing his sharp mind and curiosity, they decided not to let his talent go to waste.

His sister added: “My mum suggested he take his GCSEs in primary school.

“He accepted the challenge and excelled.

“Even though he thought his results were “so-so”, they were actually really good.

“It surprised us all.”
