Nigerian Economy Is Now Stable- President Bola Ahmed Tinubu

Published

on

On Wednesday, September 3rd, Nigerian President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, stated that the Nigerian economy is now stable.

The President made this remark while receiving His Imperial Majesty, Oba Ghandi Afolabi Oladunni Olaoye, Orumogege III, the Soun of Ogbomosoland, alongside other royal fathers at the State House.

While addressing the monarchs, President Tinubu said;

“Years of neglect and self-deception, fake records, smuggling, and all of that denied Nigeria the necessary revenue for progress and development.

Then we were confronted again with arbitrage trading of currency, an illusion of selling papers, corruption all over the place, and the integrity of the country and its economy being extremely and adversely challenged.

We had to take those actions. With your prayers, patience, perseverance and great understanding, I’m glad to tell you today that the economy is stabilised. The bleeding has stopped. Haemorrhage is gone; the patient is alive.”

President Tinubu also highlighted the government’s investment in education, noting that the establishment of the Nigeria Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) was to ensure no student drops out due to poverty.

A 39-year-old California man identified as Calese Crowder has been sentenced to 170 days in prison after authorities said he repeatedly harassed women in shops by smelling their bums

Crowder was most recently arrested in Glendale, Southern California, in August 2026 after several stores reported a man behaving suspiciously around female shoppers.

Calese caught on CCTV Camera

According to Glendale Police, officers received reports of a man bending down and acting suspiciously around customers. Investigators later identified Crowder and arrested him in the 100 block of South Brand Boulevard.

During his court appearance on Tuesday, Crowder was sentenced to 170 days in prison for a parole violation connected to the Glendale arrest.

The judge also highlighted a specific condition of his parole, ordering Crowder to remain at least six feet away from other people’s backsides.

He was further ordered to stay 100 yards away from stores connected to the reported incidents, including Big Sav, Marshalls and HomeGoods locations in Glendale.

The case adds to Crowder’s previous encounters with law enforcement over similar behaviour.

Crowder was arrested twice within a month last year for harassing women in California, according to previous reports.

In 2021, he was also filmed behaving inappropriately behind a woman in a shop. When confronted about the incident, he claimed he was “tying his shoe” before reportedly behaving similarly towards another woman in a bookshop.
Earlier in August, Glendale police responded to reports involving a suspicious man who was reportedly behaving inappropriately around customers at a grocery store on Glenoaks Boulevard.

Police also received a report from a nearby clothing store involving similar behaviour.

After reviewing surveillance footage, investigators identified Crowder as a suspect and arrested him for violating his parole conditions.

In July, Crowder was also taken into custody following a separate incident at a Walgreens pharmacy in Burbank, California. Employees contacted police after reporting inappropriate conduct.

He was also arrested in July after reports of a suspicious person loitering near the women’s department at a Burbank Nordstrom Rack.

Crowder’s latest sentence is connected to the Glendale parole violation.

According to the military, troops of Sector 1 carried out a clearance operation at Dabar Dabo, described as a known terrorist hideout in Kubau Local Government Area, in the early hours of September 9.

The operation reportedly resulted in the arrest of a suspected terrorist kingpin and two alleged members of his syndicate. The suspects have been taken into military custody for further investigation.

In a separate operation carried out the same day, troops acting on intelligence reportedly intercepted a 50-year-old woman in Igabi Local Government Area who was allegedly transporting ammunition.

The military said the woman was found carrying 300 rounds of ammunition concealed inside a bag.

Preliminary investigations reportedly indicated that the suspect had travelled from Zamfara to Lafia to collect the ammunition before allegedly taking it to terrorists in Birnin Gwari.

Later that day, troops working alongside a community vigilante group also arrested another individual suspected of supplying logistics to terrorists in Birnin Gwari Local Government Area.

During the operation, four communication devices allegedly used by terrorists were recovered from the suspect following interrogation and a search.

The Joint Task Force said the arrests and recoveries form part of ongoing efforts to disrupt terrorist networks and prevent the movement of arms, ammunition and other supplies across the North-West.

Footage released by the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) showed the ferry engulfed in flames as emergency responders worked to rescue people from the burning vessel.

According to the latest information from the Coast Guard, 43 people have been rescued, while five people have died. More than 80 people remain unaccounted for as search and rescue operations continue.

The five victims were brought ashore and taken to the Barangay Turda Covered Court in Coron before being handed over to local disaster management authorities.

The ferry had departed from Baseco in Manila and was travelling towards Coron when the blaze erupted approximately 1.2 nautical miles from Barangay Marcilla in Coron.

One survivor reportedly told authorities that an explosion was heard from the vessel’s cargo area, where vehicles and motorcycles were being carried. Reports said the fire then spread rapidly across the ferry.

Rescue teams from the Philippine Coast Guard, military, local authorities and other vessels have been involved in the search for those still missing. Bad weather and strong sea conditions have also made the operation more difficult.

The cause of the fire has not yet been established, and authorities said an investigation is underway

I Would Hope That You Would Consider This Young Lady – Lindsay Clancy’s Attorney Kevin Reddington Pleads With Donald Trump to Grant Her a Pardon

Published

on

The attorney representing Lindsay Clancy, Kevin Reddington, has asked President Donald Trump to consider pardoning his client after her murder trial ended in a mistrial following a deadlocked jury.

Follow Our WhatsApp Channel here

Clancy, 36, is facing three murder charges over the January 2023 deaths of her three children — 5-year-old Cora, 3-year-old Dawson and infant son Callan — at the family’s home in Duxbury, Massachusetts.

Her trial ended in a mistrial on September 4 after jurors failed to reach a unanimous verdict following more than a week of deliberations. The case remains unresolved, and prosecutors could decide to pursue another trial.

Speaking during an interview with Good Morning America on Tuesday, Reddington said he is hopeful that the defense and Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy Cruz can reach an agreement regarding the case.

He also made a direct appeal to Trump, saying:

“Mr. President, I would hope that you would consider this young lady and the person she is, what she’s been through, and consider a pardon”

Reddington’s request comes after Trump previously commented on the case when the mistrial was declared. The president said he had been following the trial and described Clancy’s actions as “horrible,” while suggesting that the case could ultimately result in imprisonment or treatment in a mental health facility.

Much of Clancy’s trial focused on whether she was suffering from postpartum psychosis at the time of the killings. Her defense argued that the condition left her unable to understand the wrongfulness of her actions, while prosecutors disputed the defense’s position and argued that she was criminally responsible.

The jury ultimately failed to reach a unanimous verdict, resulting in the mistrial.

Reddington has since indicated that he is willing to negotiate with the district attorney rather than necessarily proceed directly to another trial. He said he hopes both sides can find an agreement that would be acceptable to them.

However, there is an important legal issue surrounding the request for a presidential pardon. Clancy’s charges are under Massachusetts state law, rather than federal law, meaning the U.S. president does not have the normal constitutional authority to pardon her for those state offenses. Reddington nevertheless said he was seeking Trump’s help because of the president’s influence.

The case is expected to return to court, with the next hearing scheduled for September 29 as prosecutors consider their options following the mistrial.

Woman, 38, Dies After Husband Beats Her During Argument Over Cooking and Dance Class

Published

on

A 38-year-old woman, identified as Yamini Krishna Lal Yadav, has died after she was assaulted by her husband during an argument at their home in Nagpur, Maharashtra, India.

Follow Our WhatsApp Channel here

Her husband, 41-year-old Krishna Lal Yadav, was arrested after a post-mortem examination reportedly revealed serious injuries that were not consistent with the family’s initial belief that she had died accidentally.

According to police, the incident happened after Krishna Lal returned home from work and asked Yamini to prepare food for him and their children.

At the time, Yamini was reportedly getting ready to attend a dance class being held within their housing society. The disagreement over the matter escalated, with police alleging that Krishna Lal, who was under the influence of alcohol, assaulted his wife.

Yamini reportedly suffered injuries to her neck and abdomen during the incident.

Afterwards, she complained of severe pain and asked her husband to get painkillers for her. Krishna Lal reportedly went to a nearby medical store, but it was closed, and he returned home without the medication.

Her condition later became worse, with her abdomen reportedly swelling as a result of serious internal injuries.

She was eventually taken to a hospital for treatment but died while receiving medical attention.
Post-mortem changed the course of the investigation

Police initially registered a case of accidental death and sent Yamini’s body for a post-mortem examination.

However, the examination reportedly revealed severe injuries, including a fractured neck bone and extensive damage to her intestines. The findings also raised concerns that she had been strangled and physically assaulted.

Yamini’s brother said the family had initially believed that she had died under tragic circumstances until the post-mortem report revealed what had happened.

Speaking to reporters, he said:

“We were in Mumbai when we received a phone call informing us that my sister had passed away. The post-mortem report revealed that she had been strangled and had suffered injuries to her abdomen. It showed that she had been attacked in the stomach. Based on the findings, the police immediately registered an FIR and arrested my brother-in-law, Krishna Lal Yadav. He was booked under Section 302 for murd£r.”

He also revealed that Yamini had previously told him about arguments with her husband but had asked her family not to intervene.

“There were arguments between them earlier as well, like those that happen between many married couples. My sister would sometimes tell me about the fights. I used to ask her to speak up or let us intervene, but she would say, ‘Please let it be. It is a family matter. If you say something, I will have to face more problems later.’ Because she asked us not to interfere, we did not say anything. We thought these were ordinary marital disputes, but now this has happened.”

Following the post-mortem findings, police questioned Krishna Lal before arresting him and booking him under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code for murder.
