Essex Woman Wins £3,500 Compensation After Police Mocked Her Over S*x Toys During Raid

A 51-year-old Essex woman, Nichola Corr, has been awarded £3,500 in compensation after CCTV footage revealed police officers mocking her for owning s3x toys during a raid at her home.

Nichola said the incident happened in October 2023, when officers stormed her house for a drug investigation. While tossing her clothes and und*rwear, they found her d*ldo and began making jokes about it.

She recalled checking her CCTV later and hearing the officers laugh, with one of them joking that “some items were sticky.” She also noticed a G-string left deliberately placed on her yellow pillow.

“They were taking the absolute piss. It was like children in a playground,” she said, adding that the humiliation contributed to the breakdown of her marriage.

Suffolk Police confirmed that its Professional Standards Department investigated the matter and found the behaviour “unacceptable and unprofessional,” though it was deemed to stem more from immaturity than malice.

Two serving officers were put on reflective practice and issued written and verbal apologies, while a third officer had already left the force before the complaint was made.

A police spokesperson said: “A box containing s3x toys was found, which was subject to comment and laughter from the officers, but at no point do they touch or play with the items. The underwear appeared to be moved in jest, without any thought given for the upset this could cause to the owner.”
