26-Year-Old Indian Woman S!t Abl*ze by Husband and In-Laws Over Dowry Demands

Tragedy has struck in India after 26-year-old Nikki was k-lled in a h-rrific case of dowry violence. According to police, Nikki was set abl*ze by her husband, Vipin Bhati, with the support of his parents.

The incident happened on August 21. Nikki, who suffered severe burns, was rushed to Fortis Hospital and later transferred to Delhi’s Safdarjung Hospital, where she was sadly pronounced dead.

Her sister, Kanchan, who is also married into the same family, reported the crime to the police. She revealed that Nikki had been continuously h*r*ssed and tortured by Vipin and his parents over dowry demands. Despite the family already gifting the couple a Scorpio car and other valuables during the marriage, Vipin’s parents continued to demand an additional ₹36 lakh and even pushed for another car.

Kanchan also revealed that Vipin, an unemployed alcoholic, often assaulted Nikki with encouragement from his parents.

On the day of the incident, Kanchan said Vipin first struck Nikki on the neck, causing her to collapse, before dousing her in an inflammable substance and setting her on f*re. 

She added: “They t-rtured Nikki regularly, and when I tried to intervene, they b*at me too — sometimes even in front of our children.”

Disturbing footage shared online showed Vipin dragging and beating Nikki before the attack.

Police confirmed that Vipin has been arrested, while his parents remain on the run. His brother Rohit, who is married to Kanchan, has also been named in the case.

A murder case has been registered against the family under BNS sections 103(1) (murder), 115(2) (causing hurt), and 61(2) (criminal conspiracy). However, dowry harassment charges under BNS Section 80 have not yet been added.

Additional DCP Kumar said multiple teams have been deployed to arrest the absconding suspects.

“The other accused are absconding, and multiple teams have been deployed to arrest them,” Additional DCP Kumar said.
