Nurse Found Dead Inside Her Home

Police in Brisbane are investigating the sudden death of a nurse, identified as Carra Samantha Luke, after she was found unresponsive at a home in Taigum on Saturday.

Authorities confirmed they were first called to a residence on Osprey Place at around 12:30 p.m., where the woman was discovered in her bedroom. Sadly, she could not be revived.

Following initial inquiries, police then attended a second property on Hackman Street, McDowall, at about 1:10 a.m., where a 52-year-old man was found. He is currently assisting detectives with their investigation.

Two separate crime scenes have now been established at both addresses as police work to determine how the incidents are connected.

Brisbane Region Acting Assistant Commissioner Rhys Wildman confirmed that investigators are seeking CCTV footage from the area to assist in piecing together the events leading to Luke’s death.

Rhys said: “He is assisting us with our inquiries. The arrest is only in relation to the evidence gathering side. He has not been charged and he is assisting our officers with their inquiries.

“We’re investigating all angles, including domestic violence.

“I think any scene where there’s violence involved is traumatic for including first responders, police and ambulance while trained and respond to events such as this right across the state daily, it’s still very confronting and a difficult scene for them to manage.

“We’ll be providing support services for those frontline officers who attended.”
