Michael Barrymore Diagnosed with Mini-Stroke

Television personality Michael Barrymore has revealed that he has been diagnosed with mini-strokes, which have now led to him developing epilepsy.

In a heartfelt update shared with fans on TikTok on Thursday, Barrymore disclosed that the condition causes him to experience uncontrollable seizures.

He further explained that he suffers from cluster seizures, a type of epilepsy that affects around one in four patients, meaning sufferers can experience multiple seizures within a short period of time.

Barrymore also noted that there is a 40% chance of developing status epilepticus, a serious condition that can lead to brain damage or even death without urgent medical intervention.

The entertainer revealed he has endured several attacks this year but remains positive, adding that the illness has not stopped him from living his life. He expressed a desire to connect with others battling the same condition, saying it would be “nice to talk to other people who suffer from the illness.”
