6-Year-Old Girl Swallows Key While Playing With Brother

A six-year-old girl was rushed to the hospital after accidentally swallowing a key while playing with her brother.

According to reports, the incident happened during a game when the child discovered a set of keys and, in a playful moment, placed one in her mouth. She accidentally swallowed it but kept quiet about the incident. It wasn’t until the next day, when she became anxious and visibly frightened, that her mother learned what had happened and rushed her to the hospital.

Despite showing no immediate symptoms, doctors carried out a scan which revealed the key lodged in her abdomen. Fortunately, it wasn’t blocking anything. The medical team decided to keep her under close observation instead of opting for surgery.

Over the next 48 hours, X-rays tracked the key’s movement through her intestines. By the third day, she successfully passed it in her stool without complications.

Follow-up checks, believed to have been conducted in Ecuador, confirmed that the girl is now healthy and free of any issues.
