After nearly six decades together, Elder Emedom and Deaconess Chikatara Ogbonna are still as deeply in love as the day they met. In an interview with Storyteller Media, the couple opened up about how their marriage has endured for 58 years—through challenges, humble beginnings, and changing times.
According to Deaconess Chikatara, their bond was built on true love, not wealth or status. She recalled that when she was young, eight wealthy men sought her hand in marriage, but she turned them all down to be with the man she believed was her destiny.
“I chose him because I knew he was the one for me,” she said, smiling warmly at her husband.
Interrupting playfully, Elder Emedom added:
“When I saw her, I just knew—this is the girl for me.”
“That time it is difficult to get girls going to school, not many of us so there were about 8 men and those people were nearer my home and they were rich they had money but he was the youngest and the poorest
When asked how she knew her husband was for her during her young age, she said: “When i was at oron when i think about others that are coming it is (He) where my mind was going, My mind was always going to him.
“My parents said he is poor, he is young, he does not have anything look at all these ones, You said you wont take them, You will follow this one then I said it is my own choice. my father said well since you have said he is the one you want you have to go so it is the lord doing”
When asked Elder Emedom on how he know his wife was his woman, he said: “I didnt go anywhere to look for a girl, i was too small to think of it but as she was coming the spirit said this is the girl for you that’s all
“Like I said I was in class A she was in B and then we were comparing notes and moving together at a point some people asked me whether they were interested in marrying my sister they thought she was my sister and asked me they wanted to marry her then I replied them, Go now
When asked about what keeps a marriage together, he added saying: “What keeps a marriage together… He that Prays together then the couples that prays together, stays together ….. We can disagree but always to agree every disagreement leads to agreement coming together again….. so if you think we are quarrelling and now you want to tell her something tomorrow you would become the person that would be out of favor
“It is only God Guidance to anybody who says all to him i surrender he says this battle is not your own, it is the lord’s battle”

Woman Left Surprised After Her Missing Cat Returns Home Covered in Blue Dye
According to Sophie, she had been searching for her beloved pet and feared that something terrible might have happened after the cat failed to return home.
However, to her surprise, the feline eventually came back looking bright blue.

British Explorers Stunned After Discovering Hidden World War II Nazi Bunker in France
The remarkable discovery was made during a trip to northern France after the team noticed a small patch of concrete protruding from scrubland.
Inside, they found original drawings and markings still etched into the walls by the soldiers who had been stationed there more than 80 years ago.
Speaking about the discovery, Stuart, a member of Forgotten and Forbidden Explorers, said:
“We were about to call it a day in France when my colleague noticed a tiny bit of concrete in the scrub.
“What revealed itself inside blew our minds.
“The bunker is in northern France on an old German airfield from 1940.
“A database gave us an idea of where to look but then it was up to us to go and see.
“The item in question could have been demolished so it’s all luck of the draw.
“But it’s all part of the research.”
Stuart added that the bunker is located on private land and believes the landowner is likely aware of its existence.
“It’s on private land so I’d expect the farmer knows it’s there.”
The discovery has fascinated history enthusiasts online, offering a rare glimpse into a wartime structure that has remained hidden for decades.

Couples Arrested After Climbing Empire State Building Antenna for Marriage Proposal
The pair, who were dressed in black, were seen scaling the building’s antenna without safety harnesses before standing on a narrow ledge near the summit, approximately 443 metres (1,454 feet) above Manhattan.

The daring stunt drew the attention of authorities, and shortly after the climbers descended from the antenna at around 1 p.m., officers moved in and arrested them.
