Brandon Blackstock, Ex-Husband of Singer Kelly Clarkson, Dies After Battle with Skin Cancer

Brandon Blackstock, the former husband of Grammy-winning singer Kelly Clarkson, has passed away following a battle with melanoma, a serious form of skin cancer.

Melanoma is a type of skin cancer that originates in melanocytes—the cells responsible for producing melanin, the pigment that gives skin its color. If not detected early, it can spread to other parts of the body and become life-threatening.

News of Blackstock’s passing was confirmed by a family spokesperson to Page Six.

The spokesperson said: “Brandon bravely battled cancer for more than three years. He passed away peacefully and was surrounded by family. We thank you for your thoughts and prayers and ask everyone to respect the family’s privacy during this very difficult time.”

This sad news comes shortly after Kelly Clarkson revealed on social media that she was canceling her Las Vegas residency, citing her ex-husband’s declining health as the reason.

“While I normally keep my personal life private, this past year, my children’s father has been ill and at this moment, I need to be fully present for them,”

“I am sincerely sorry to everyone who bought tickets to the shows and I so appreciate your grace, kindness and understanding.” she wrote via Instagram Wednesday.
