Man Survives After 3 Storey Building Collapses in Abuja
The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has successfully rescued a man who was trapped beneath the rubble of a three-storey building that collapsed in the Life Camp area of Abuja.
The incident occurred on Saturday, August 2, prompting an immediate response from emergency services. The victim, later identified as Aliyu Salisu, a 27-year-old citizen of the Niger Republic, was pulled from the debris in the early hours of Sunday, August 3—nearly 10 hours after the collapse.
Upon rescue, he was rushed to Cedar Crest Hospital in Gudu, where he is currently receiving medical treatment and reported to be responding well.
According to the police, a distress call was received around 6:15 p.m. on Saturday. Rescue operations began immediately and continued throughout the night. At approximately 4:00 a.m. on Sunday, Mr. Salisu was successfully extracted from the rubble by the dedicated efforts of emergency personnel.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Ajao Adewale, confirmed the incident and praised the coordinated efforts of all rescue teams and agencies involved.
