I Was Deported Back to Nigeria from Spain After Engineer Collected N1.5M Each to Travel by Sea – Man Cries Out

A Nigerian man identified as David has gone viral after sharing the harrowing story of how he was deported back to Nigeria after a dangerous journey to Spain by ship.

In a video posted by Yomi Listens, David recounted that in 1997, he was working as a cleaner at Apapa Wharf in Lagos, earning just ₦4,000 per month. During this time, he met an engineer responsible for servicing ship engines, who promised to smuggle him and others to Spain—for a fee.

According to David, the engineer demanded $1,000 each from 20 people, assuring them safe passage. After collecting the money, the group was hidden inside the engine compartment of the ship.

David revealed they spent one month and three weeks traveling from Lagos to Barcelona Seaport, enduring unimaginable conditions. Seven people died during the trip due to heat, starvation, and poor hygiene. They survived mostly on bread, and using the toilet was extremely difficult because of their cramped hiding spot.

Despite the traumatic journey and eventual deportation back to Nigeria, David emphasized that he has never smoked, consumed alcohol, or engaged with prostitutes.
