It is a moment of celebration for Nigeria as the Super Falcons defeated Morocco 3-2 in a thrilling final at the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), securing their 10th continental title.
The match, filled with drama and resilience, saw Morocco take an early lead. In the 24th minute, Sanaâ Mssoudy doubled Morocco’s advantage after beating Michelle Alozie in the box and slotting a low shot past Chiamaka Nnadozie, making it 2-0.

However, Nigeria came back into the second half with renewed determination and a more aggressive approach.
Esther Okoronkwo ignited the comeback in the 64th minute, converting a well-taken penalty to bring the scoreline to 2-1.
Just 7 minutes later, Folashade Ijamilusi equalized with a close-range finish, making it 2-2.
The decisive moment came in the 88th minute when substitute Jennifer Echegini struck a clinical winner, sealing a 3-2 victory for Nigeria.
