Man Arrested in Kogi for K!lling Woman Who Rejected His Marriage Proposal

The Kogi State Police Command has arrested a 50-year-old man, Yayu Musa, for allegedly m£rdering a woman who refused his marriage proposal.

According to reports, the tragic incident occurred on Friday, July 25, around 8:00 p.m. in a rural area of the state. Musa allegedly lured the victim to her farm under the pretense that thieves were stealing palm fruits. Upon her arrival, he attacked and sl*ughter*d her with a knife.

Police officers were alerted to the crime scene and arrived to secure the area and take photographs before arresting the suspect. Musa is currently in police custody.

A source from the victim’s family, Lawal Abdulazeez Muhammed, claimed that Musa carried out the heinous act because the woman refused to allow him marry her daughter.

Despite standard procedures, the family refused to release the corpse for autopsy, choosing to proceed with an immediate burial in line with religious and cultural practices.

In response to the growing tension in the community, the police have deployed joint security patrol teams to prevent any outbreak of violence.

The police say investigations are ongoing to uncover the full motive and circumstances surrounding the murder.
