Model Found Lifeless on a Dubai Road Shares Near-Death Experience, Now Confined to a Wheelchair

Ukrainian model Maria Kovalchuk, who was found critically injured after attending a party in Dubai, has survived and is now on a long road to recovery.

Back in March, Maria was discovered by the roadside in the Emirati city with severe injuries to her spine and limbs, after allegedly being tortured by Russians at the party. She spent weeks in a coma in a Dubai hospital following the incident.

Now, Maria is reportedly recovering at a private location in Norway, where she is under the care of her mother, Anna. She is currently learning to walk again using crutches.

In a new update, medical scans reveal a large scar stretching from her forehead to the top of her skull, a haunting reminder of the trauma she endured.

During an interview on Ukrainian TV show “Hovoryt Vsia Kraina”, her mother Anna emotionally shared: “It was a shock

“If you saw the stitches on the head, how the scalp had to be sewn back on….

“My impression is that it was just done like this, with a knife, and right across the face.

It looked as if it was done with a knife from the centre of the head all the way down to the eye, and the hair was cut off.’

‘Why the hair was cut is unclear, because it wasn’t done at the hospital, the nurses told me that and confirmed it.

‘The hair had been lifted upwards and cut off.

‘They wouldn’t have been able to lift it like that in hospital, because there was a massive wound on the head.”

Speaking about her health and the number of surgeries she had undergone, she said: “One leg has an open fracture with ten centimetre [4 inches] of bone missing.

“She currently has an implant from the hip down.

“That leg is now paralysed, with no sensation.

She added: “She had tearing under both armpits and a broken collarbone—like she’d been dragged.

“Then I believe they beat her and threw her from the car.

Anna also stated thta she has been threatened online for speaking about the case.

Speaking about the threats message, she got on her phone: “I got a disappearing message on my phone.

“We’ll find you even in Norway.

Earlier this week, Maria opened up about the terrifying incident, revealing that she had been spending time with a group of acquaintances in a hotel room in Dubai when things took a dark turn.

According to her, the two men who invited her suddenly became violent. She explained that when she tried to leave, the men — who had been drinking heavily — began smashing bottles and behaving aggressively, making it nearly impossible for her to scape safely.

“You belong to us. We’ll do whatever we want.” she said as they continued to be aggressive.

During the chaos, Maria attempted to flee and went into hiding. Unfortunately, the men found her concealed in an unfinished building that was still under construction.

She said: ” tried to take it as a joke, because it was really weird.

“They started behaving inappropriately, smashing bottles on the floor.

“After that, they took my personal belongings, which included my passport.
