A two-year-old Labrador named Dali from Hyderabad, India, has captured international attention after becoming the first dog in the country to sell abstract paintings across the globe—all created using her paws.

Dali, who was abandoned at just 50 days old, found a new home with artists Hoi Choudhury and Snehangshu Debnath. According to the duo, Dali’s artistic journey began when she was still a pup—frequently sneaking into their art studio and stealing brushes.
Now a full-fledged paw-painter, Dali has created over 37 unique artworks using non-toxic watercolours on 300GSM handmade paper. Her creative sessions are often accompanied by smooth jazz music and rewarded with chicken treats.

Hoi said: “She used to sneak into the studio, steal brushes and even pee on the floor,”
“At first we thought she was just being naughty – but really, she wanted to be involved.”
Snehangshu added: “We jumped up and down like lunatics……It felt like a spark – that moment was electric.”
Hoi said: “She paints on her own terms.

“Sometimes she stares at us like, ‘Not today’, and goes to the balcony. Other times she’s ready to go and doesn’t want to stop.”

“She handles it all like a true professional,” said Snehangshu. “She’s calm, focused and loves the attention.”
