Actress Denise Richards has been granted a restraining order against her estranged husband, Aaron Phypers, following allegations of abuse made during their ongoing divorce proceedings.
According to court documents filed on Wednesday, Richards accused Phypers of repeated abuse and claimed he had threatened to kill both her and himself if she ever went to the police.
“Throughout our relationship, Aaron would frequently violently choke me, violently squeeze my head with both hands, tightly squeeze my arms, violently slap me in my face and head, aggressively slam my head into the bathroom towel rack,” Richards wrote, according to court docs obtained by Page Six.
In the claims, she further revealed that in 2022, Aaron allegedly bruised her eye during one of his violent outbursts. She stated that the incident occurred in Malibu, California, at Aaron’s workplace, where he became enraged over a belief that the plants he had purchased “contained listening devices.”
According to her, Aaron verbally abused her—calling her a “fking bch”—while repeatedly striking her with the palm of his hands.
“Aaron grabbed me by the back of my head by my hair and slammed me into the ground and screamed, ‘You are not cancelling my flight, I am going with you and I do not trust you,’” she claims in the docs.
To support her claims, she provided photographic evidence showing visible bruises on her face.
The court additionally issued a restraining order against Aaron, mandating that he must stay at least 100 yards away from Denise Richards, her residence, her vehicle, and any other property associated with her.
