World Oldest Marathon Runner, Fauja Singh, Dies at 114 After Being Hit by Car

Fauja Singh, the legendary marathon runner known globally for defying age limits, has tragically passed away at the age of 114 after being struck by a car in his native village near Jalandhar in Punjab, India.

According to local reports, the incident occurred while Singh was attempting to cross a street. Despite being rushed to a nearby hospital, he was sadly pronounced dead on arrival.

Recounting the heartbreaking moment, his son, Harvinder Singh, said: “He was hit by a vehicle, and the driver ran away.

“The police are conducting an investigation.”

It is worth recalling that Fauja Singh began his running career between 2000 and 2013, gaining widespread fame after participating in several international races. One of his most notable moments came in Toronto, where he ran at the age of 100.

His final race took place in Hong Kong when he was 101 years old. Remarkably, he completed a 6-mile run in 1 hour, 32 minutes, and 28 seconds, solidifying his legacy as one of the most inspirational senior athletes in the world.
