50 People, Including 15 Children, Die After Being Swept Away by Texas Flood
Tragedy has struck Texas as historic flooding along the Guadalupe River has claimed the lives of at least 50 people, including 15 children, after the river surged nearly 30 feet above its normal height in a devastating rush of water.
Among the missing are four young individuals whose families are clinging to hope. One heartbroken father, speaking to CNN, expressed his anguish as the search for his daughter and her friends continues.
“We pray that all four of them are still alive,” he said through tears. “All four are missing. They’re still missing.”
Another local, Badon, a resident of Beaumont, revealed he last spoke to his daughter and her friends around 4 a.m. on Friday, shortly before the phone call dropped. Since then, there has been no contact.
He added: “It’s been four o’clock yesterday morning that we were told that they were on the phone with Aidan’s dad, who own the house where they were”
“We presume she got washed away as well. And if you go back to where the house is, it’s not a good sign”
