South African Man Sentenced to Life for M£rder of His 10 weeks Pregnant Girlfriend
A South African man, Jabulani Nkosi, has been sentenced to life imprisonment by the High Court in Mpumalanga for the brutal m£rder of his pregnant girlfriend, 27-year-old Boitsoko Khoza.
The court found Nkosi guilty of m£rder on July 3rd, 2025. Khoza, who was 10 weeks pregnant at the time, was last seen on November 22, 2023, after she informed her colleagues via WhatsApp that she would not be coming to work and planned to visit her parents in Mamelodi. However, she never arrived, and efforts by her family and friends to reach her were unsuccessful.
Just three days later, on November 25, 2023, a fire broke out at her residence. Members of the Govan Mbeki Fire Brigade responded to the scene, where they discovered Khoza’s lifeless, b-rned body.
A post-mortem examination revealed that Khoza had been severely ass-ulted before her death. She suffered multiple st@b w!unds and rib fractures, indicating a violent attack before her body was set on f!re.
During the trial, Senior State Advocate Themba Lusenga presented compelling evidence, including testimony from a local businessman who shockingly claimed that Nkosi had confessed to “selling” Khoza for R650. The court also heard that Khoza’s pregnancy and the broader issue of gender-based violence (GBV) in South Africa were aggravating factors in the case.
The court handed Nkosi a life sentence for murder and an additional five years for arson.
