Liverpool Star Diogo Jota Dies in Car Crash 2 Weeks After His Wedding

Liverpool football star Diogo Jota has reportedly died in a car crash, just two weeks after marrying his longtime partner, Rute Cardoso — the mother of his three children.

According to early reports, Jota was travelling in a Lamborghini alongside fellow footballer André when the tragic accident occurred. The incident took place on the A-52 motorway, approximately 70 miles west of the historic Spanish city of Valladolid.

It is believed the high-performance car suffered a tyre blowout while attempting to overtake another vehicle. The car veered off the road, crashed, and subsequently burst into flames in the early hours of the morning.

Both men were pronounced dead at the scene.

The news comes as a heartbreaking blow to the football world and fans globally, especially following the recent celebration of Jota’s wedding.
