Man Arrested for Pouring Gas on Seoul Subway Due to Divorce Sadness

A shocking incident unfolded on a packed subway train in Seoul, South Korea, when a 67-year-old man, identified as Won, was arrested for pouring gasoline inside a train car full of passengers.

Police say Won, who was reportedly an angry divorcee, was upset with a recent lawsuit judgment and decided to take out his frustrations on unsuspecting commuters. At the time, an estimated 160 people were on board the Line 5 train of the Seoul Metropolitan Subway.

After creating this dangerous scene, Won fled but was quickly apprehended by police at Yeouinaru Station.

He has since been charged with a staggering 160 counts of attempted murder. Prosecutors are taking the incident extremely seriously, condemning his actions as “tantamount to terrorism” and stating that he deliberately targeted the train to gain public attention. The damage caused by the incident is estimated at 300 million South Korean Won.
