Halle Bailey Seeks Protection Against Ex DDG, Fears Kidnapping over their son

Actress and singer Halle Bailey has expressed serious concerns about her ex-boyfriend, rapper DDG, claiming she fears he might try to kidnap their child.

In newly filed court documents, Halle revealed that she has been a victim of domestic violence during their relationship. She stated that DDG “threatened to take our son without my permission and has tried to do so.”

As a result, she is asking the court to issue protective orders to prevent any possible abduction.

Halle also recounted a disturbing incident where she genuinely feared DDG would not return their son to her. The situation escalated to the point where she had to involve her legal team to ensure her child’s safety.

In the court filings, it reads: “I have attempted to work with Darryl to set up a schedule for Halo, but he refuses to talk to me and just goes live to blast me to his fans.

“I also continue to try to work with his Mother to try to arrange time for Darryl to be with Halo.

“I was filming in New Jersey last month and arranged for his Mother to come and take Halo to visit with his father,”

“In co-ordinating the trip, I learned that Darryl had purchased a one-way ticket for his Mother to come to New Jersey and to take Halo to him.

“He demanded I pay the cost of the return ticket and would not book it.

“I had a lawyer get involved in order to protect our son and draft an agreement to ensure that our son would be returned to me.

“I was glad that I could facilitate the visit, but it created tremendous stress for me and disrupted my work while I was dealing with Darryl’s threats.”

Included in the legal filings was a visitation agreement, which was submitted as an exhibit. According to the agreement, DDG’s mother was supposed to pick up Halo from Halle in New Jersey and bring him to Los Angeles.

She said: “It said the visit was “expressly conditioned on: Halo being returned to me on April 11, 2025,” as well as their son remaining only in his father and grandmother’s care and that the child remained in Los Angeles during the visit.” It reads

Beyond the physical concerns, Halle says DDG has also turned his followers against her. She accused him of stirring up hostility by encouraging fans to attack her online and even starting the hashtag #FreeHalo, which she says only increased her fears for both her and her child’s safety.

She added: “I also ask the Court to order Darryl to cease and desist from posting and/or streaming on any and all platforms about Halo and/or me, including but not limited to YouTube, Twitch, Tiktok, Instagram, and Twitter/X.

“He is a YouTube and Twitch Blogger and creates a fan frenzy by making false claims about me.

“This has caused me to feel afraid and victimised. His fans then threaten me. I am often scared for my life and Halo’s safety. #freehalo has become a slogan online,”

In her filings, she also included photographic evidence allegedly showing injuries sustained from physical abuse by ODG.

She added: “The next thing I knew, things got physical between us. We fought each other, wresting and tussling. At one point, Darryl was pulling my hair. He then slammed my face on the steering wheel, causing my tooth to get chipped.

“I then stopped fighting back as I was in a lot of pain. I wanted to get out of the car with Halo but was now stuck.”

Halle alleged in her court filings that as a result of the incident, she sustained bruises on her arms and a chipped tooth.

Following the claims, the judge issued a temporary order granting Halle sole physical and legal custody of their son, Halo.

The court also determined that DDG posed a potential risk of taking the child without permission.

As a result, the judge ruled that DDG is not permitted any visitation rights with his son until further notice.
