Young Boy Dies by Suicide After Being Bullied Over His Glasses and Teeth at School

A year after 10-year-old Sammy Teusch took his own life following relentless bullying over his teeth and glasses, his father, Samuel Teusch, has opened up about the heartbreaking experience.

In an emotional interview with Daily Mail, Samuel shared how the past 12 months have been extremely painful as he continues to grieve the loss of his youngest son. Sammy was a student at Greenfield Intermediate School (GSI) in Indiana, where, according to his father, he was bullied not only by students but also neglected by school staff who failed to act on repeated warnings.

Samuel recalled how other parents offered apologies after Sammy’s death, but he felt they showed little genuine remorse for the torment his son endured. “It’s disgusting, it’s shocking, and it’s devastating,” he said.

In a heartbreaking detail, Samuel shared that just days before Sammy’s death, he had spent $525 on a new pair of glasses, hoping it would stop the bullying. Sammy’s previous glasses, he said, had become a source of ridicule.

Sadly, only two days after receiving the new pair, Sammy took his own life.

He said: “There has been no accountability. This happened on a Sunday, and on the Monday, [the bullies] go back into school like nothing has happened, and nothing is done, and nothing is said.

“What kind of message does that send?… The bullies will go on to target other kids because they think it’s okay… they’ll think, “I killed one and I got away with it.”

“And if this can happen to Sammy, this can happen to any child on Earth.

Disturbing new allegations have come to light in the heartbreaking case of 10-year-old Sammy Teusch, who died by suicide last year after enduring relentless bullying.

According to filings in the case against Greenfield Intermediate School (GIS) in Indiana, one student allegedly choked Sammy so severely that he “saw stars.” In another reported incident, he was struck in the face with an iPad, which left him with a black eye and shattered his glasses.

Perhaps most horrifying, documents claim a group of girls, including one female student in particular, encouraged Sammy to hang himself. That same girl allegedly took a photo of Sammy’s open casket during his funeral and was later seen laughing at her phone.

Sammy’s father, Samuel Teusch, told Daily Mail that he had reported the bullying at least 20 times to the school’s principal, Bronson Curtis, and other staff members. Despite his repeated pleas, he says no meaningful action was taken.

Teusch also shared that his son had asked teachers for help before his death—but his calls for support were ignored.

“A couple of months before he passed, after he was hit on the bus and got into trouble for it, he just told me: “Daddy, it’s okay. They don’t care. They’re not listening to me.”

“He felt helpless… And the school told us every time that they don’t accept bullying, and they were going to do everything in their power to end this, but it never ended.

Unfortunately, Sammy last seen tragicalyly came to an end after a voice noise was over snapchat on May 4th, 2024 by a bully identified in court documents only as ‘NT’.

According to Teusch, NT warned his son not to come into school on Monday or he’d ‘regret it.’

‘They said, “What I did last week was nothing compared to what you’re going to have happen on Monday,” Teusch said

“And it was about six hours after that message that we lost Sammy.”

Teusch also shared that his last conversation with Sammy took place on the morning of Sunday, May 5th. He recalled asking his son if he wanted breakfast while Sammy was lying in bed, cuddled up next to his mother.

“I want pancakes, Daddy” Sammy told him.

Teusch left home to run to the store with one of Sammy’s older brothers.

It wasn’t until the family returned home and called Sammy down for breakfast that the unimaginable unfolded.

Sammy was found hanging in his bedroom by his 13-year-old brother.

A devastated Samuel Teusch said there had been no warning signs that his son was suicidal.

“He wasn’t depressed… he was a happy little boy……… The day before, he was on the phone to his brother, talking about when he turns 14, he wants to go to Japan.

“Sammy had plans for the future, but he was scared to death in a moment and thought this was his only way out.

“He was so full of life and loving and caring… I still can’t believe he’s gone.
