A woman named Helen has opened up about how her marriage fell apart after she got involved with a man who was already married, a decision she says ultimately left another woman in tears.
In an emotional interview with Afrimax, Helen revealed that the relationship began decades ago while the man was still married to someone else. Despite knowing his marital status, she went ahead and pursued the relationship, which eventually led to marriage.
However, Helen admitted that even while married, she never truly felt a deep connection or sense of ownership in the relationship.
Narrating, she said: “Then i was working and then there was a good friend that we met we became to be friends, we are so close like someone you could look up too as a mentor, you would reach out, tell him some of the issues you are facing in the relationship ……… So our relationship grew so closer i a way that we couldn’t go a day without talking by then he was married but now i am trying to discover myself though i had one child by then.
“So we continue to the relationship, friendship, basically and all that he was there to provide, a good friend like i was saying, these are God sent, he provided for me, my son by that time i had one son he could pay my bills sometimes when i am stuck, he could come in ship foods and everything but no strings attached just good friends and all that …… so later on our relationship grew so tight and it came to a time now ……. he confessed because then he was also having some challenges in his marriage, he opened up and told me some of the challenges they were going through and i could tell myself why would good person have such…..you know and because you are young, you are getting help here and there, you don’t go to dig deeper and ask questions and they think that is what many girls do in their comfort zone you forget about any other person and just think about yourself am i able to eat, are my bills being paid, You forget to find out digging deeper the background of this person for real who is this person that i am getting entangled with that was my case by then being that i was frustrated in relationship before so now this guy comes in very mature he understands everything before i cough everything has been done and he is suffering.
“Someone is taking advantage of him, someone is misusing him in the name of marriage so when he came out and things happened now we became lovers and all that i could not say no.
“I couldn’t resist because i was like where do i start from again he has established me he has done some things for me, he has been always there for me all my free time were are spending together so it was hard for me to resist and then number two, I think it is because of the age bracket it was hard for me to ask for some deeper serious questions like i can face someone today and want to know more about this person.
How they moved in together, she added: “Later on we moved in together and the wife finds out that we are in a relationship, she tried to separate us initially it was easy because i could understand her and we were on a good platform so we tried to breakup but after sometime we came back together again so later on i found out i was pregnant for him so i cant come out things have happened, I have given the woman a chance to reconcile with the husband they are still fighting they are all having their own issues and now i am listening to just one side of the story of which he was talking negative about his wife the way she mistreats and all that the way she is malicious all those nasty things and i could sympathize with him because now before him I was seeing a full post person who is mature, intelligent knows what to do, caring
“You can tell if he is taking care of me like this i’m just somebody what about the wife? what else do people want so many things that led to that, I can’t say by then, he was a bad person or what ….. no he was there for me and he was willing to do like now when things escalated Im pregnant, he had to bring his people the mother came in the brothers, sisters they came to know who is the lady now so i also took him to my people because i told him i would not
“For me i was like you have stopped staying with your wife you have to come stay with me so we are not going to be two and he said no we are not going to be two i think the life i have spent with her is enough we had to begin a new journey with you i didnt know the formalities to that to observe and all that just because i know when you are in love you are so blinded you dont even hear some things so later on i was like okay after all i am not getting into a polygamous now build my own understanding i am not getting in the polygamous this person has left his wife.
“So when i went home i told my people so you know what he was married but they are no longer together so i took him to meet people we did introduction and everything was okay and from there we begin to stay like husband and wife, we stayed we got our first child
“We began from there, there was red flags and i tell myself not maybe because i am pregnant because i remember when i conceived he asked me how sure am i that the pregnancy is mine (his) i have stayed with my wife for over 20years she didnt give me a child so how sure am i that this one is mine we just stayed for short time
“That question could have come to my mind it was a red flag a sign to run for my life because i was like why would you ask me such question and i decided to give him time and the baby was born the baby resembled him everything and all that deep inside my head i knew i have not engaged in another relationship ……… it wasn’t an easy time during that pregnancy but then things went on the baby was born we continued our lives, we could go to church together we could do our things together just like any other marriage I know deep inside most girls would have shared theirs who have been in the same shoes and attest, that gap that you feel you lack sense of ownership over this person no matter how you try to lie to yourself you are complete that everything is okay”

Images from the scene showed the strange-looking marine creature lying motionless on the sand. The fish appeared to have an oversized head, an open jaw and a body shape unlike those commonly seen near shorelines, leading many social media users to describe it as both fascinating and eerie.
Alongside the deep-sea fish, another unusual marine creature was also reportedly found on the beach.
The second fish featured a shiny silver body, large eyes, a pointed dorsal fin and a distinctive upturned mouth that gave the impression of a permanent grin.
The rare discovery quickly attracted attention online, with many people expressing curiosity about how the creatures ended up on the shore.
Deep-sea species are rarely seen by humans because they typically inhabit ocean depths far below the surface.
Marine experts often note that unusual ocean conditions, storms, changes in water currents or illness can sometimes cause deep-sea creatures to wash up on beaches.

Surgeons Transform Elderly Man Life After Removing Massive 2kg Tumour From His Neck
An elderly man has been given a new lease on life after surgeons successfully removed a massive tumour from his neck that had grown from what initially appeared to be a small lump.
According to the patient, whose identity was not disclosed, he first noticed a small lump on his neck but paid little attention to it because it was not causing any discomfort at the time.
Recalling how he discovered that the growth was becoming more serious, he said:
“I saw in the mirror that the mole on my neck seemed to have moved higher.
“I later realised it was the skin being displaced by the tumour.
“I immediately went to see surgeons in my local area.”
After seeking medical attention, doctors diagnosed him with a neck liposarcoma, a rare cancerous soft-tissue tumour that develops in fat cells.
Due to the complexity of the case, he was referred to the Sverdlovsk Regional Oncology Dispensary, one of the largest cancer treatment centres in Russia’s Ural region.
By the time surgeons prepared for the operation, the tumour had reached an alarming size, measuring approximately 15.5 centimetres in length and 9 centimetres in width. It also weighed more than 2 kilograms.
Medical specialists explained the dangers posed by the tumour as it continued to grow.
“The giant tumour on the back and side of the neck had already grown into the muscles, the branches of the cervical plexus, and was advancing towards the spine and the major blood vessels supplying the brain.
“Any delay could have led to an increased risk of stroke, and impairment of motor function and sensation. A decision was made to perform a radical surgical intervention.”
According to the Ministry of Health of the Sverdlovsk Region, the tumour was completely removed during a complex two-hour operation that required surgeons to carefully separate it from major blood vessels and surrounding structures.
Doctors reported that the patient’s recovery following the procedure was smooth and without complications.
He is currently continuing anti-cancer treatment as part of his ongoing recovery process.

A Nigerian driver identified as Sunday has narrated how he survived a violent attack while travelling from Lagos to Port Harcourt.
Speaking in an interview shared by TikTok user @CPO OMoghene, Sunday explained that he drives for a living and was on duty when the incident occurred.
He said the trouble began when he attempted to bypass traffic along the Benin–Warri route. According to him, he noticed a minor traffic buildup before suddenly hearing a loud impact, as though another vehicle had struck his car.
Curious about what happened, he said he stepped out to check his vehicle, only to be confronted by a group of okada riders allegedly carrying weapons.
He explained that the situation escalated quickly, forcing him to flee for safety.
When asked about his reaction during the chaos, he said: “For this Benin, I don’t know anywhere na to pass and go and deliver my vehicle or I’m finding police station maybe I can see police station to enter.”
He also stated that he did not see any police checkpoint at the time of the incident.
Asked how many people were involved, he responded: “Like 30 or 30 something people with Okada.”
Sunday further claimed that he was eventually caught, beaten, and that his vehicle was damaged during the attack.
When asked if he owned the vehicle, he clarified: “It is not my own, it is company motor.”
Despite the ordeal, he said he was able to escape with help from a Good Samaritan who intervened at a critical moment.
Describing his survival, he said: “It is one brother that God sent to me he helped me that yesterday unless they would have killed me but I thank God that God send people to come and help me.”
The incident has raised concerns over road safety and security along major routes, as motorists continue to call for improved protection on highways.

Moment man escapes assailants after being attacked at midnight in a club in Surulere, Lagos
A man has taken to social media to recount a frightening experience after he was allegedly attacked by a group of assailants outside a club in Surulere.
According to the victim, the incident occurred at about 1 a.m. while he and his friends were seated together discussing sales plans ahead of the Sallah celebrations.
He explained that he became suspicious after noticing a man repeatedly moving around the area. Moments later, the same individual reportedly returned with another man, and the pair allegedly began chasing and attacking him.
The situation reportedly changed when his friends noticed what was happening and rushed to intervene, confronting the suspected attackers and forcing them to flee.
Despite the violent encounter, the victim revealed that none of his belongings were taken. According to him, both of his mobile phones and the money he had on him remained untouched.
The man believes the attack may have been targeted rather than a robbery attempt because his valuables were left
He also disclosed that he has reported the matter to the police and is appealing to members of the public who may recognize the individuals involved to come forward with useful information.

Kenyan Police Officer Dies During Childbirth Two Years After Losing Her Two Sons
A Kenyan police officer, Louis Aoko Ogony from Migori County, has sadly died while giving birth, just two years after surviving a tragic accident that claimed the lives of her two young sons and younger sister.
According to reports, Ogony passed away on April 23, 2026, after undergoing a Caesarean section at Nakuru Specialist Hospital, where she had been admitted for delivery.
Family members disclosed that a post-mortem examination later determined that she died as a result of a pulmonary embolism, a serious condition caused by a blockage in one of the arteries in the lungs.
The tragedy was made even more heartbreaking as her newborn baby girl also reportedly did not survive.
