According to reports, she was intentionally left out in the cold with no means of getting home, accessing shelter, or contacting anyone for help.

The elderly woman, who did not have her walker with her, was last seen with her daughter. That evening, temperatures plummeted to as low as 16°F, with strong winds and heavy snowfall. Tragically, Corrye was later found lying on the ground at the property where she had been left.

An autopsy has since confirmed that her cause of death was hypothermia.

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office has stated that the investigation is still ongoing as they look into the circumstances that led to Corrye’s heartbreaking death.
