Nigeria Has Happened to Me Again – Man Laments as Moving Truck Crushes His Mother to Death

A young Nigerian man, Joshua Igba, has shared his deep sorrow online after the sudden passing of his mother. In a heartfelt post on LinkedIn, Joshua recounted the devastating incident that occurred in Abuja on April 4th, 2025.

According to Joshua’s post, his mother was tragically struck by a moving trailer. He explained that she was rushed to the hospital, but sadly, despite efforts to save her, she succumbed to her injuries due to severe bleeding.

Sharing his pain, He wrote: “NIGERIA HAPPENED AGAINI lost my mom before 7am yesterday April 4, 2025. Her lower body was crushed by a gigantic trailer in Abuja, who took one way. She bled until her heart stopped. All within 2hrs.

I woke up hearing shouts and I thought there was a fight/quarel in the sitting room. I was struggling to squeeze my eyes open to comprehend the accident victim. The moment I heard victim was my mum. My eyes cleared and bulged like a frog. Wetin be this. What did I just hear? Had it been April 1st, I would have laughed it off as prank.

The last 2hrs of her life was in agony like a soldier who stretched legs on a land mine and had both legs vaourised in a flash. She watched her crushed legs bleed and bleed and bleed. She didn’t not even have the opportunity to speak to us on phone.

Yesterday was black Friday for the family.

Nigeria is a place where we keep seeing things happen in the news until it happens to someone close. Years back, at school of ministry, a question was asked. What is a miracle? I replied and said a Miracle is going out in Nigeria and returning home alive and healthy. Everyone laughed but the truth is the truth.
