Val Kilmer dies of throat cancer

Legendary actor Val Kilmer, known for his iconic roles in Top Gun, The Doors, and Batman Forever, has sadly passed away.

The heartbreaking news was confirmed by his daughter, Mercedes Kilmer, in an interview with The New York Times. She revealed that her father died from pneumonia, following a long battle with throat cancer, which he was diagnosed with in 2014.

In 2015, Kilmer was rushed to UCLA Medical Center due to severe bleeding in his throat. Doctors later confirmed he had oral cancer, which led to significant health struggles in the years that followed.

Despite his illness, Kilmer continued to make an impact in Hollywood. In 2022, he reprised his role as Iceman in Top Gun: Maverick, using AI technology to recreate his voice after losing it due to cancer treatments.

His legacy in film and his contribution to the industry will never be forgotten.
