Twin Brothers Found Dead on Mountain After Missing Flight to Visit Friends

Twin brothers, Qaadir and Naazir Lewis, both 19, were tragically found dead on a remote mountain in Georgia.

A hiker discovered their bodies at the summit of Bell Mountain, near Towns County, close to the North Carolina border. Authorities confirmed that both had suffered gunshot wounds.

According to their family, the twins were supposed to be on a flight to Boston to visit a friend. They had booked a flight for 7 AM on March 7th, but never boarded the plane. Strangely, their flight tickets were later found inside their wallets.

Their uncle, Rahim Brawner, spoke to 11Alive about the heartbreaking loss. saying: “They’re very protective of each other. They love each other.

“They’re were inseparable. I couldn’t imagine them hurting each other because I’ve never seen them get into a fistfight before.

“How did they end up out in the mountains? They don’t hike out there; they’ve never been out there” Their aunt Samira Brawner said

“They don’t know anything about Hiawassee, Georgia. They never even heard of Bell Mountain. So how did they end up right there?

“We knew right away that wasn’t true.

“We want answers, we want to know exactly what happened to the twins.

Their aunt, Yasmine Brawner, expressed disbelief over the circumstances of their deaths saying, “They had a huge support system. We know them. They wouldn’t do anything like this. To say they did this to each other? No. Something happened in those mountains, and we want answers”

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) has conducted autopsies and is awaiting forensic test results, as the exact cause of death remains unknown.

In the meantime, Yasmine shared that a GoFundMe account has been set up to help cover the twins’ funeral expenses.
