I Lied About My Age to My Husband – I Was 18 When We Started Dating, and He Was 56
A couple with a 43-year age gap has shared their love story, proving that age is just a number when it comes to relationships.
Leah, now 23, and her husband, Gary, now 67, first met when she was younger. In a recent interview, Leah admitted that when they first met, she lied about her age, pretending to be older.

Despite their love, the couple faces negativity, with many assuming Leah is only with Gary for his money. Addressing this, Leah shared: “I am a housewife, a stay-at-home mom, and also doing YouTube.” She hopes to prove critics wrong, saying, “We want to show people that an older man and a Filipina can actually fall in love.”
Recalling how they met, Gary said: “I was just a young 56-year-old when we first met. We met on a dating app, and she actually reached out to me first.”
Leah admitted that if she had told Gary her real age—18 at the time—he likely wouldn’t have considered meeting her. When asked how he felt about her lying, Gary responded: “i was actually disappointed when she lied to me I felt is it someone that I would be able to trust but i already got some feelings for her and got to know her a little and was willing to forgive her for that”

Having lived in Asia for 12 years, Gary explained that he had become accustomed to seeing his friends date younger women, so their age gap didn’t seem unusual to him.
“After living in Asia for 12yrs, friends that i knew they all had young girlfriends so i kind of got used to dating people much younger than me” he said
As for the perception that Leah is with him for financial reasons, she said: “People assume I’m with him because of his money.”
Laughing, Gary interrupted, saying: “When we met, I was literally broke.”
