Father and Son Transition Together, Now Identified as Mother and Daughter

A Brazilian father and son have shared their unique journey of transitioning from father and son to mother and daughter.

Raphael, formerly known as a father, revealed that his 10-year-old child, Gustavo Batista, began transitioning at the age of four. Meanwhile, Raphael also transitioned last year, choosing to live as a woman and no longer identifying as male.

In an interview with G1, Raphael was asked if Gustavo’s transition influenced their own decision, to which they responded: “It didn’t have any influence, but he [Gustavo] gave me strength and courage to face [the transition].”

Gustavo, who is also a student and an actor, has played both transgender and cisgender roles in films, embracing his identity both on and off the screen.
