Rappers Sentenced to 20 Years in Prison for Involving in Drugs

A group of rappers from Bag Tawk Entertainment (BTE) has been sentenced to a combined 20 years in prison after showcasing drugs in their music videos.

One of the rappers, Cortez Haugabook, also known as Traffic, received the harshest sentence—25 years in prison plus 10 months behind bars. His conviction stems from conspiracy to distribute 500 grams or more of methamphetamine, as well as possession of 50 grams or more of meth and cocaine.

Other group members also received each sentences: Javontah Harris, known as Gut, was sentenced to 20 years in prison. Kristian Brown, also known as Skeet, received the same 20-year sentence. Torri McLaurin, known as T-Dub, was sentenced to 19 years and 7 months behind bars.

Haugabook was the last to be sentenced after pleading guilty to the charges on March 6, 2024.

According to a statement from the U.S. Attorney’s Office, the group operated as an organized drug distribution network. Investigations revealed that between 2020 and 2022, BTE had uploaded 11 music videos featuring various members of the group. Their last video was uploaded in 2022.

Authorities stated that the videos openly displayed drug manufacturing, packaging, and sales.

During a search warrant, police discovered hundreds of grams of meth, cocaine, and fentanyl, along with firearms and makeshift business cards, further confirming the group’s involvement in drug trafficking.
