Mother Confesses to Murdering Her Son

41-year-old mother, Karolina Zurawska, has admitted to killing her son after initially denying the murder charges.

Karolina had previously pleaded not guilty to the murder of her son, Alexander Zurawski, but later accepted guilt for manslaughter.

During a plea hearing at Swansea Crown Court on Monday, she also pleaded guilty to attempting to murder her 67-year-old father, Krzysztof Siwi, during the same incident.

Prosecutor Michael Jones informed the court that her pleas were accepted following three psychiatric evaluations, which concluded that Karolina was suffering from a psychotic illness, specifically paranoid schizophrenia, at the time of the crime.

Karolina is currently receiving treatment at Priory Hospital Llanarth Court and is scheduled to be sentenced on April 25th.

in a statement released by Karolina Family about her late son, Alexander, they said: “Alexander was always well-behaved and never naughty. He was very clever and very mature for his age. He had a great understanding of facts. Alexander was always helpful, always eager to assist with cooking and cleaning. Alexander spoke both English and Polish and would often correct his parents with their English if they got words wrong. He was amazing.”
