A traditional ruler in Imo State, Eze Dr. G.A.E.O. Agbanyim, popularly known as Otitibirit Elemaejeogu, has reportedly married a young woman at the age of 81.

The development was disclosed by a Facebook user, Anthony Ariwaozo, who shared news of the monarch’s marriage on social media. According to Ariwaozo, the wedding took place last Saturday.

“His Royal Majesty Eze Dr. G.A.E.O Agbanyim, (Otitibirit, Elemaejeogu) the Ezeahurukwe of Amike Ancient kingdom got Married on Saturday, 
We all say congratulations to his Majesty,” Anthony captioned

Eze Agbanyim is a traditional ruler in Orlu Local Government Area of Imo State. News of his reported marriage has drawn interest because of his age and his long-standing position in the traditional institution.

The development comes after the monarch celebrated his 80th birthday and marked 53 years on the throne last year, highlighting his decades of service as a traditional leader.

A lady has recounted an emotional experience after discovering that her boyfriend, a chorister in their church, intended to marry another woman, making the revelation during a church service.

According to her account, she had attended church with her boyfriend, expecting an ordinary service. However, the situation took an unexpected turn when he decided to give a testimony before the congregation.

As she listened to him speak about his plans to get married, she reportedly became excited, believing he was about to announce that he intended to marry her.

Her excitement quickly turned into disappointment when her boyfriend pointed to another female chorister, identified as Sarah Johnson, and declared that she was the woman he wanted to marry.

The lady said she was left stunned by the announcement, particularly because she had believed their relationship was heading towards marriage.

She also recounted how Sarah came forward and appeared excited about the declaration, making the moment even more painful for her.

Describing her reaction, the heartbroken lady said:

“that moment it was like i dont know myself again i was like what is going on here, she then came out (Sarah Johnson) and started blushing and that moment my body was going muuuuua like e be like say make i go fight am hit am but because na Church I dey i no want create scene, I chop breakfast at church”

The expression “I chop breakfast” is commonly used in Nigerian slang to describe being rejected or experiencing heartbreak in a romantic relationship.

Days after Ecuadorian priest Father Patricio Alfredo Sánchez Molinari died when a large crucifix fell on him during a livestreamed Mass, another priest has survived a similar incident in Colombia.

A video circulating online captured the moment the priest was struck by a heavy cross while attempting to move it inside a church.

In the footage, the priest can be seen approaching the crucifix and trying to reposition it. However, the cross appeared too heavy to handle easily and suddenly fell on him, striking his head.

Unlike Father Patricio, who died after the crucifix accident in Ecuador, the priest in Colombia reportedly survived the incident and sustained only a minor injury.

The exact church where the incident occurred has not been identified, and further details about the circumstances remain unclear.

The two incidents have drawn comparisons because both involved priests being struck by falling crucifixes, although the outcomes were different.

A Nigerian lady has taken to social media to recount her experience after claiming she was arrested at a beach in Lagos at night and asked to pay N300,000.

According to her account, she was handcuffed during the incident and told to provide the money. She said she contacted several friends and even tried to obtain a loan, but none of them sent her money.

The lady explained that her mother was the only person who came to her aid, sending her N20,000.

A lady has taken to social media to recount her terrifying experience after she was allegedly robbed by a group of armed men on Nigeria’s Independence Day, October 1, 2026.

In a video shared on TikTok, the lady explained that the incident occurred at approximately 2:00 a.m. while she was livestreaming from her home.

According to her account, the armed men allegedly invaded their compound, broke into her apartment and robbed residents across her street. She claimed that the attackers were armed with rifles and machetes, adding that residents who attempted to resist them were reportedly injured.

Recounting the incident in an emotional narration, the lady described the frightening moments she experienced as the attackers broke into her home, seized her electronic devices and demanded access to her phone.

Explaining how the incident began, the lady said she was livestreaming on TikTok when she suddenly heard shouting downstairs. She alleged that the attackers initially broke into her neighbour’s apartment before forcing their way into hers.

She said:

“I was robbed on Nigeria’s Independence Day, October 1st.

The craziest part was I was live on TikTok when it happened.

I’ve been trying to figure out how to tell this story, because honestly, I don’t even know how to explain what happened that night.

But I do have the actual live recording, and I’ll show you exactly what happened.

This clip was the recording from TikTok while I was live, before the phone was taken from me.

It was around 2:00 a.m. in the morning.

I was streaming, and suddenly I heard a shout downstairs.

My neighbour’s door was being broken into.

And I swear it wasn’t even up to seven seconds before I heard my door broken. Literally broken down.

And they kicked it in. They rushed towards me.

There were about four of them with rifles, with machetes.

One of them took the phone I was having in my hand and grabbed it. The other phone that was on my dresser, they took that too.

And at that point, I had to run out because I wasn’t even thinking about my feelings anymore.

Honestly, I was thinking about the fact that I wasn’t dressed. I wasn’t properly dressed.

And I was terrified that I was in the same room with four men that had weapons. I was scared that they would sexually assault me if I stayed inside.

So I ran out onto the veranda.

And the second I got out, I remembered that my laptop was on the locker, was on the table. I had to put it into the bag, and when I turned around, I realised that somebody else had taken it.

They had taken it, and then one of them came towards me, put a machete on my head, told me to give him my phone password.

My hands were shaking terribly. I could barely type.

I hesitated because I was terrified of giving them access to everything, to my phone.

I haven’t thought about putting the wrong password, but then I thought if I try it, they might hurt me.

So they gave me their own phone and told me to type my password into their phone.

That was when I realised that it wasn’t about my feelings anymore.

I genuinely did not know if I was going to make it out of that situation without being injured.

They dragged me back into the house, started asking, ‘Where are the cartridges of the phone?’

They needed the cartridges of the phone.

And I was just there standing.

I don’t know. I don’t know what cartridges? What cartridges? What cartridges do you want?

Then they started ransacking everything.

That was when they found my camera.

They kept asking, ‘What else do you have? Where is your money?’

And honestly, my gadgets are so important to me because that’s what I used to work, that’s what I used to earn, that’s what I used to make content to survive.

They took my camera. They just grabbed the camera back.

Eventually, I had to run outside again.

I did not want to stay indoors.

And they left my house and went from house to house.

I was just kneeling there, raising my hands in the air.

At one point, I had to lie down just to show that I wasn’t a threat.

I kept praying. I kept shouting, ‘Jesus, Jesus!’

If you see the video, the clip there, that was what I started with.

I kept calling the name of Jesus.

And it wasn’t just my house. It wasn’t just my house. They robbed almost every house on my street.

Those that tried to resist them, they were hurt. Those that did not give them what they wanted, they were injured.

But when I say I was scared, I didn’t mean I was scared because someone stole my phones or my laptop or my camera.

I was scared because I genuinely did not know what these people could do.

And when they were finally done, they left on their motorcycles.

But there’s something I keep thinking about: how vulnerable we can be in our homes.

But honestly, what I lost was just material things.

I’m grateful that I’m sitting here telling my story, because material things can be replaced.

I know people are gonna feel sorry for me, but that’s not the point of this video.

The point is awareness. Please be security-conscious.

Look at where you’re living.

Look at the security around your compound.

Pay attention to the people coming in and out of your environment.

Be careful about unfamiliar workers, visitors, people that just start appearing around your community.

Pay attention to your surroundings.

We have to be security-conscious.

And it’s funny because the irony of all this is not even lost on me.

It was Independence Day. While Nigeria was celebrating, I was outside my home at 2:00 a.m. in the morning, kneeling on the ground, hands in the air, and just praying to God that I survived the night without a scratch.

It really made me think about what independence and safety actually mean for ordinary Nigerians as we head into another election.

Election is this January. It’s basically three months away.

I think we all need to pay attention to security, whoever we choose to lead us.

Security has to be something we take seriously.

We need to ask questions about how citizens are being protected, because security shouldn’t only become a conversation after someone has been robbed, kidnapped, killed.

Look at the candidates. Look at their plans. Make your own informed decision.

I’ve never been so scared in my entire life.

And I don’t wish this experience on anybody, even my enemy.

I’m alive. I’m grateful.

But I’m asking you, please be careful.

Because sometimes the things we think could never happen to us can happen in less than seven seconds.”
