I Have No Male Features – Trans Woman in Tears After Passport Lists Her as Male

A trans woman named Zaya Perysian took to social media to express her frustration after discovering the gender listed on her updated passport.  

Zaya, who was assigned male at birth, underwent transition surgery and had all her documents updated to reflect her gender as female. However, when she received her new passport, she was shocked to find it had been changed back to male.  

She revealed that she was first notified of this change via mail.  

In an emotional statement, Zaya said: “I am an adult and i have undergone my full medical transition there is nothing about me anymore that represents male on the exterior whatsoever, the only that them deny to put female on my passport does is put me in danger while travelling but that is all it does, Im in danger now…… they are only doing this to scare people like me because they don’t want us in public life they want us to hide in fear and be scared of them but trust me i am not going anywhere……. Trans people have been here and we are staying here and i will fight this. 

She went on to say:  “I am not scared I’m not scared, I am not gonna cry I can still leave the country if i need to but this (Passport) saying male is crazy this is a direct violation of my rights as an american citizen under the equal rights ammendment this is a violation of my rights in general.”
