We Spend $3K–$4K on Groceries Every Month – Couple with 10 Children Laments

Couple Mitch and Chela, who share 10 children, have opened up about life with their large family and the reactions they get from people.  

In an interview with ‘Truly’, they revealed that their children range in age from toddlers to 16-year-old twins, who are the oldest.  

Chela explained their approach to mealtime: “We all eat the same food, cook different meals really unless someone does not particularly really like something but that is not often so.” 

On grocery expenses, she said: “We spend about $3,000 to $4,000 a month.”

When asked if they planned on having such a big family, Mitch admitted: “It just happened. Twins came first, then the third, fourth, fifth, sixth… the ball kept rolling, and I just kept on bowling.”

On how they find time as a couple, Mitch said: “It’s very hard. Honestly, there’s no time for us.” 

The couple also shared their reason for color-coordinating outfits as a family. Chela said: *“It started with the twins. I used to dress them the same, and then Chalice [one of their daughters] came along and wanted to match with them too.”  Mitch added: “It just looks so good. It’s like an entourage whenever we go to a shopping center. It’s not like we want the attention, but that’s what happens.”
