Principal and Teacher Arrested After Over 100 Kids Found Drinking at Her Home

A Florida elementary school principal has been arrested after hosting a house party where over 100 children were found drinking and partying at her home.  

Elizabeth Hill-Brodigan, 47, the principal of Roosevelt Elementary School, was taken into custody alongside Karly Anderson, a teacher at the same school. Both were charged with child neglect and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. 

According to the Cocoa Beach Police Department, the party at Hill-Brodigan’s home included over 100 children wearing matching T-shirts and consuming alcohol, which was available in coolers throughout the property. Officers responding to the scene found one child on the front lawn suffering from an alcohol-related medical emergency.  

The CBPD stated in a press release, “During this time the homeowner, Hill-Brodigan, was seen by Officers in the driveway of her residence turning off the outside lights and entering her residence, causing BCFR to use auxiliary lighting on their vehicle to treat the juvenile.”  

Another intoxicated juvenile was arrested nearby during a traffic stop, leading to the driver being charged with DUI.  

Anderson, who admitted to police that she was a teacher at Roosevelt Elementary, was also found intoxicated at the party.  

Hill-Brodigan posted a $3,500 bond, while Anderson was released on a $3,000 bond.

Although No court dates have been set, but both women face one felony charge of child neglect.  

Hill-Brodigan had only recently been appointed as principal of Roosevelt Elementary on May 2, 2024. On the school’s website, she expressed excitement about her new role, writing, “‘Students, families, and staff are very close to my heart, I really enjoy what I do,” and highlighting her 23 years of service to Brevard County schools.
