A 30-year-old woman, Zaida Rosa López, who had been on Interpol’s Red Notice list, was arrested while preparing to give birth in a hospital in Valledupar, Colombia.
Authorities tracked her down after she checked into the hospital due to severe abdominal pain caused by her pregnancy.
Police and immigration officers entered the facility, surprising López, and took her into custody.
Photos from the scene show officers documenting the arrest while she remained on the hospital bed. A doctor and social worker were present to ensure proper medical care and ethical handling of the situation.
it was reported that López has been wanted by Venezuelan authorities for charges related to conspiracy to commit fraud and other criminal conspiracies.
