RuPaul’s Drag Race UK star James Lee Williams is dead

James Lee Williams, better known as “The Vivienne,” star of “RuPaul’s Drag Race UK”, has passed away at the age of 32.  

The news was confirmed by publicist Simon Jones, who announced that The Vivienne died over the weekend. The family has requested privacy, stating that no further information will be released at this time.  

The Vivienne rose to fame after winning the inaugural season of “RuPaul’s Drag Race UK” in 2019. She chose her drag name as a tribute to her love for Vivienne Westwood’s iconic fashion.  

Beyond her success on “Drag Race”, The Vivienne made her mark in other ventures. She came third in the 2023 edition of “Dancing On Ice”and portrayed the Wicked Witch of the West in a UK and Ireland tour of “The Wizard of Oz”. 

Last year, she reprised the role in London’s West End at the Gillian Lynne Theatre.
