A 59-year-old American man has taken to social media to express his heartbreak after his Filipino wife, whom he relocated to the United States, filed for divorce shortly after obtaining her U.S. citizenship.
He shared that throughout their marriage, he made efforts to make the relationship work, but felt that his wife did not reciprocate the same commitment.
The man revealed that he and his ex-wife have two children together. Reflecting on their time dating and married, he admitted that her plan seemed to succeed — marrying him, gaining citizenship, and then filing for divorce just two years later, once her residency status was finalized.
