Newly wedded man dies on honeymoon while swimming at a beach in Bali

A newlywed man, Jacob Vennix, tragically passed away while on his honeymoon in Bali with his wife, Kimberly Fuller.

According to 7news.com.au, the incident occurred on Monday at 3:50 p.m. while the couple was swimming together at Pasut Beach. As Jacob struggled in the water, Kimberly tried to reach him but was unable to save him. 

A local rushed to help Jacob, but unfortunately, the boat he was using capsized in the rough waters. After Jacob drowned, his body was brought back to shore by a wave whereby CPR was performed on him, and he was taken to the hospital but was later pronounced dead.

Gusti Made Berata, a spokesman for Tabanan Police, explained that the area where the couple was swimming is known for strong currents. 

“They are swimming on the estuary area, right in front of the entry access into Pasut Beach,” 

 “The estuary area is the meeting point of current from different direction.” Said Gusti Made Berata

Jacob’s death follows the couple’s announcement of their wedding on social media on December 21st.
