Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s divorce is finalized

After an eight-year legal battle, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have officially finalized their divorce.  

In a statement shared with “Page Six” by Jolie’s lawyer, it reads:  “More than eight years ago, Angelina filed for divorce from Mr. Pitt. She and the children left all of the properties they had shared with Mr. Pitt, and since that time she has focused on finding peace and healing for their family,”

The couple first met in 2005 while co-starring in the film “Mr. & Mrs. Smith” At the time, Brad Pitt was married to Jennifer Aniston, but the two divorced later that same year. Meanwhile, Jolie was already a single mother to her son, Maddox, whom she had adopted from Cambodia in 2002.  

In 2005, Jolie also became the mother of Zahara, whom she adopted from Ethiopia with Pitt accompanying her on the trip. The couple later legally adopted both Maddox and Zahara before welcoming their first biological child, Shiloh, in 2006.  

In 2007, they expanded their family by adopting Pax from Vietnam. The following year, in 2008, Jolie and Pitt welcomed twins, Knox and Vivienne.  

However, in 2016, shortly after their second wedding anniversary, Jolie filed for divorce, marking the beginning of a lengthy legal process. Now, after years of disputes, the divorce has been officially settled.
