I Married a man of God that Lured me to borrow money to pay my own Dowry myself

Emma shared her heartbreaking experience of marrying a pastor who turned out to be a liar and a cheater.

She recounted wit Tuko how she met him in 2021, and he became her first love and the first man she had ever been with.

Emma explained that she believed marrying a man of God would ensure a faithful and loving relationship, but unfortunately, this was not the case.

“For me I used to believe If someone loves God if someone fears God they are the right person to marry because if they fear God there is somethings they will not do to me as a wife Surprisingly it ended up being something else all together.” She said in a part 

Narrating on their first meet up, she shared: “In our first meet up it was quite interesting he talked to me about his background and I also shared about myself to him what i have been going through and how my life has been and at some point, I actually started crying he was there pampering me to be okay and he is like I’ll be praying for you so the impression he gave me he gave me like was a responsible person someone with a great character because when someone speaks the way they always say that actions speaks louder than words but for me I never concertrated with the time of lots of actions I Concentrated with the words 

“He left and now it became a habit whereby we could meet up and talk and share we could also travel all the way to come to Katanga we just go somewhere and we have a cofee.

How things became rough, she said: “The way it all started was when i started paying the bills earlier and then we were getting to know wach other and I started paying the bills in a point whereby we could meet up I pay for coffee dates sometimes maybe if i have some money, we could go somewhere out and a nice place talk, share and I could find myself paying and then we became friends for almost 7months now when we started dating all along there was a time we were going somewhere and actually at this point I invited him to our place for a worship experience and I organized the worship experience in our church and here we went and we could go for pratice and everything so for me i called some ministers some friends i put them together and we formed a band so when we formed the band he was the one who the main minister could come and we do some pratice everything for overnight and then everything was interesting until the did day and i was so happy because i saw what God has done and this was thr first worship experience i have ever personally organized and i could see the way people came friends came from different church and everying and he was the one who was ministering so when i was welcoming for him to come minister this is the first time i ever told anyone like I shared with my friends because they were there these one is my fiancee and i was like “Hi guys for blessing you here i want to welcome this person and this person is my fiancée” so everyone could clap they were so much excited because no one saw it coming and everyone was like oh wow that is amazing and when i welcomed him to the pulpit I remember he said thank you so much the woman of God…….. I introduced him as my fiancee but himself he inroduced me as a woman of God but at that time he didnt click in and then when i sit back and I looked that was a very big red flag but for me it wasn’t a big deal at the end of the day I’m a woman of God you know then this day after the worship experince everyone departed to their place.

“So after like 3days my pastor called me at the time I was worshipping at Katanga and she told me Emma pls come to my office I need to see you so I went around in the afternoon hours, we met and we started talking and surprisingly she seemed to be so much interested in my fiancee she was like tell me introduce your fiancee to her and I was like oh he is a pastor he is a man of God he is a minister and she is like okay anything else and i was like there is nothing much to say and she asked how long have you guys dated and that time we have dated almost 4months and she asked me how long have you known him and I was like “7months” and she was like okay Im going to tell you something i don’t know how you are going to react to it and the pastor said when your husband ow ehen your finacee when he was ministering he seems to have spirit of immorality and then I was like do the pastor even know what she was saying that my man is a man of God he cannot do such a thing and then this time i have never found him with any scandal and then she shows me the message all along im calling my fiancee they have been talking and then she was like let me put you the voice note to hear for yourself and I was like okay and she put the voice note and the voice note was “Hi girl I was quite excited when i saw you when i saw you with that dress you look cute when i saw you i actually lacked breathe” and then so for me i was like okay and then the next voice note he talked about how he wants to help her with music he is telling her how the cuter voice she has how he loved her voice but later told her that there is something he would love them to do together and then she was like i would work on your codes and then there is another thing that i want to talk to you about and then he is like I would love us to meet up and we talk about it so for her she was like okay what is it that you want us to talk about that we cannot talk about it now then he is like I just want to meet you and talk about it.

How she felt about the last voice note, she added saying: “The last voice note made me cry and this voice note the lady was like she texted him why are you behaving in such a way and then you have a fiancee or whatever i heard you being introduced is it something else in his replies, he firstly laughed and he was like I don’t know about that but me what I know is that i (He) am single so after 4 days when i called him Im like can we meet up and to him it was a normal coffee the way we always hangout and I asked if… if i can ask him a question saying “Have you ever told a lady that you are single” he was like no babe i cannot do that you know i don’t have such characters that is not my behaviour and i’m like okay have you ever told anyone or have you ever flattered with a woman telling her how interested in her how you want you and her to go out he was like no i have never done that me i’m a man of God and there is somethings that i cannot do and i was like okay, I took my phone I put the voice note and i started the one he is saying he his single i remembered his face dropped down he was just looking down so i’m like why are you looking down so look at me the way you are looking at me I put the voice note and i was like what was that ………… 

“This guy was a narcissist the biggest narcissist in the world he could not lack something to say then he started telling me oh she was interested in me then i’m like interested in you and did you know that i read all the chats……. and then i got mad, i stood up and boarded a boda boda (Tricycle) and i left home and then after like a week that time i blocked him everywhere and I’m like we are done then after a week his best-friend reached out and was like can we meet up and i was like what for he is like i haven’t done you wrong so there is nothing wrong with me and he was like your fiancée is the one that you have a problem with when we meet up, he told me that he has never seen my fiancee do such a thing saying that these guy has no characters and I don’t know what happened that day…… he was like he is not that way he is a man of God maybe this time he was tempted so when we finsihed talking, I left and i remembered him saying before i left that I should meet my fiancee talk things out and everything and i was like what for and he was like no please meet him just hear him out 

“After that, I eventually met him, he talked and he was telling me how sorry he is and this time was the first time he had ever bought me gifts and I ended up forgiving him and we came back together 

“After dating for 8months, he called me and said can i ask you something and i was okay then he said “Will you marry me” and i was like why ask me if i marry you why not we take sometime like right now i want you to marry me so i insisted and said “Yes i would marry you” and honestly the proposal for me was quite exciting and i was like this is amazing yes it didnt come with a ring but i was happy and then i was like what’s up and he was like then there is some money that i have gotten I have 150k ksh and i was thinking we can go home and go and take the dowry home so for me i was like 150?? but then there was some money that i was going to get then from there my relatives, my friends they will chip in and have almost 300k+ and we eventually went to our home I met my dad, my aunts they have cooked and the introduction begins and he is like i have come with these guys because then there is a guy who presented him and was talking and when it reached the point for him to talk he is like dad mom and he is like I have loved your girl and i want to marry her I want to start a family with her so my aunts were very excited because they heard a wedding but there is something interesting coming up he shared with him about that and my dad was just nodding his head saying nothing much at the end he finishes up saying please you can come with your people and then we can go from here because we cannot talk much with your guys…….. there is an age my dad wanted and now that he came with his friends so they talked everything went well and when they left, my dad called me and he asked me again are you sure and im like why are you asking me if i’m sure if im not sure i have never brought any other guy at home this is the first one so here we are they left and i came back to Nairobi and at that time we went to their place we went his mother his sisters and his brothers……….

Emma revealed that she consulted her father about the dowry, suggesting 100,000 Kenyan shillings. Her father was surprised by this suggestion and questioned her choice.

Despite her father’s reservations, Emma told her fiancé that 100,000 shillings was acceptable to her family. Her fiancé was overjoyed, unaware that Emma had been deceived into paying the dowry herself.

Furthermore, Emma not only financed the wedding but also had to borrow money to cover the expenses.
