My dad denied me and ran away and left my mother struggling while she worked as a maid to survive

Nigerian rapper Blaqbonez, also known as Emeka Akumefule, has opened up about his childhood struggles and his relationship with his parents during an interview with Chude Jideonwo.  

He revealed that he never experienced a father’s love growing up. According to him, his father disappeared when he was young, leaving his mother to raise him alone. She became a single mother, working as a maid to provide for him and give him a better life.  

When asked about his upbringing, Blaqbonez described his early years as very difficult. “There are different phases of my childhood phase one was the very poor phase there was like 8 of us in a one room apartment everytime it rained as soon as you just see the rain coming, You have to start stacking up all the things that are on the floor because the house is going to get flooded.” he recalled.  

On his family structure, he explained, “I am the only child of my mom. My dad kind of deeped when i was born and so he wsn’t there, he travelled and i wasn’t raised by him and I didn’t know him and then he went to germany. “And i think there were a lot of conversation then…… is this my child?? you know that type, they were never married he left and he was trying to dodge responsibility and then my mom was hustling and was just trying to figure out life and even at one point, my mom was working with one family the more i think about it the more i need to ask her i have never really had the guts to ask her about her relationship with that family i don’t know if she was like a maid and I don’t know the connection between them and that family at some point i was staying with that family and my mom was kind of there……. It is hazy in my memory so there was that family and my mom was just hustling and just trying to put two and together.”

When asked about his closeness to his mother and whether she would be the first person he’d tell if he had a child, Blaqbonez said, “Yes, I’m very close to my mom, but maybe not the first person I’d tell. I’d probably call one of my guys first. But there’s no way I’d have a child and not know about it.” 

He also spoke about his determination not to repeat his father’s mistakes. “Because of my dad and how he went like i kind of became ultra sensitive to that part of my life and i would never come in a woman if i do not intend to have her as the mother of my child I won’t even take the risk of a plan b It would never happen so nobody can even remotely think that let me accuse blaqbonez or let me do paternity fraud.” he added
