Transgender awarded Model of the year at British Fashion Council
Transgender model Alex Consani has been awarded Model of the Year at the British Fashion Awards held in London.
Alex’s victory highlights the British Fashion Council’s (BFC) growing commitment to recognizing talent from underrepresented groups, including the LGBTQ+ community.

Alex who has his bleached hair and eyebrows is a 6ft-tall model who began his career in 2015 and has since become popular.
The shortlist included other notable names like British model Alva Claire, Los Angeles-born Amelia Gray, South Sudanese model Anok Yai, Chinese model Liu Wen, and Mona Tougaard, whose heritage spans Danish-Turkish and Somali-Ethiopian roots.
During their acceptance speech, Alex expressed gratitude and humor, saying: With an influence that transcends the catwalk, the Model of The Year has made an outstanding contribution to the industry, garnering numerous editorial and advertising campaigns throughout the year.

Joking with the audience, he said: “I am the first trans model to win this award,’ after being presented with the accolade by model Ashley Graham and Baby Reindeer star Nava Mau”
