Woman dies after Undergoing £7k BBL

A 38-year-old woman named Hayley Dowell has died following a £7,000 cosmetic procedure that included a Brazilian butt lift (BBL), liposuction, and a tummy tuck.

Hayley reportedly passed away from an embolism a few hours after the surgery while recovering at the BHT Clinic in Istanbul. 

Her husband, Neil Dowell, who accompanied her to Istanbul, told an inquest she had not been properly informed of the risks from the procedure.

Neil claimed he was asked to sign a consent form after Hayley’s death on October 3 of last year. He also mentioned that the surgeon who performed the procedure was advertised as one of the top five in Turkey.

Taking the case to Winchester Coroner court, he said:”It should have been a six hour operation but it wound down to one hour 45 minutes.

“The surgeon left halfway through the operation and left the anaesthetist to do the job. You can’t do both at the same time.

 “There was not any risk outlined to her.”Although this is not the first time fatalities have occurred following a Brazilian butt lift (BBL), the procedure remains popular. BBL surgery involves a doctor transferring fat from areas like the belly, hips, lower back, or thighs to enhance the buttocks. 

Despite its appeal, it’s known to carry higher risks compared to other cosmetic surgeries, including complications like fat embolisms.
