Man hit by car wakes up from coma remembering 1980, loses 39yrs of his memories

Luciano D’Adamo, a man who was involved in a car accident in 2019 has woken up with his memories in 1980

His last memory before the coma was leaving his house in Rome in March 1980, just before being struck by a car.

He recalled only darkness until he woke up decades later, feeling traumatized to learn how much time had passed.

When Luciano woke up in the hospital, he was shocked to discover it was 2019 and not 1980.

The world around him changed , and he struggled to adjust, especially when he realized that he was now 63 years old.

His last memories were of his younger self, the moments leading up to the accident, and his 19-year-old wife, whom he had been looking forward to marrying.

“I still remember the amazement of traveling in a car that showed me a map of Rome on a screen, or rather the Tuttocittà as we once called it, while a voice said: “In 100 meters turn right,”‘ he told Il Messaggero recently.

Luciano D’Adamo faced difficulty in reconnecting with his wife, old friends, and visitors after waking up from his 39-year coma.

“She called me Luciano and I wondered how she knew my name.” he said in a part

He added: “Sometimes I say that I would like to fly on a plane, I have never done it,’ he told Italian media recently.

‘My wife says to me: “What are you talking about? We were in Paris together.”

“And I reply: “You have been there, I haven’t.”
