An 89-year-old woman has shared some valuable advice for women who are focused on getting married, encouraging them to prioritize their personal growth and lives instead of rushing into marriage.

In an interview with Sprouht, she reflected on her own experiences, expressing regret over her marriage to her ex-husband, which ended in divorce at a young age. She recounted how difficult it was for her, as she had to raise her children as a single mother for 30 years.

The elderly woman advised women to be careful in choosing their partners, emphasizing that times have changed. 

She noted that during her generation, people typically started dating at ages 16-17, whereas today, many are waiting until their 30s to marry, balancing both careers and family life.

She also highlighted that women today are much more informed and empowered compared to her generation.

She said: “My biggest mistake was picking my husband. I got divorced at avery early age with a single mother for 30 odd year, Be careful who you pick to spend your life with. At my age, we met our boyfriends at 16, 17. 

“Today, people are getting married at 30 and 32 and have a career and then they have a family. Who didn’t know any better. Today’s women, I think are a little smarter.”
