My husband dumped me after I took loan to build a house for him- Woman cries out

A woman named Meru An has shared her regrets after taking out loans to build a house for her husband, only for him to leave her.

Recounting the issue, Meru revealed that she sacrificed all her earnings to support her husband, who was unemployed and financially struggling at the time.

Out of love and dedication, she took multiple loans to build and complete a house for him in his village.

Meru recalled how her husband even barred her from starting a business, threatening to throw her out of the house if she disobeyed him.

She explained, “At first, I took a KSh 200,000 loan but did not give him all the money. After a while, I took another KSh 200,000. The construction was not as quick as in between, there were other house needs like shopping. He barred me from starting a business, warning me that he would chase me out.”

As they relocated to his village, Meru’s life became even more difficult. Her salary was no longer enough to cover their household bills since her husband remained unemployed. She described the situation as “strenuous” and emotionally draining.

She added: “”We returned to his home village since life became difficult for us. My salary was insufficient to care for the bills in the house since he was unemployed. It was strenuous for me.”
