My parents were against my marriage because my Husband is an Ex-convict
Felicia, a 21-year-old woman, shared her story about how her parents were against her marrying Adam, 46, because he is an ex-convict.
She explained that her family and friends were opposed to their relationship because Adam was exactly the type of man they didn’t want her to be with. Regarding how they met, the couple mentioned they first crossed paths at a local fundraiser.

They immediately felt a connection, despite not knowing their significant age difference at the time.
Talking about how they grew close, Adam said, “We didn’t start dating right away. We had only known each other for about three weeks when I found out she was 19 and I was 44.” Felicia added, “At first, I thought we would just be friends.” Adam continued, “We talked about every aspect of this that there could be and then we are like we don’t want to miss and if this is a real thing and we miss…..” Felicia interrupted “How devastated would that be”
Felicia recalled a moment that stood out for her: “I remember he sat me down on the tailgate of his truck and told me he wasn’t messing around. He said if we were going to spend time together, it had to be serious.” Adam added, “I told her, ‘I’m not looking for a girlfriend. I’m looking for a wife.’”

Reflecting on her parents’ disapproval, even up to their wedding vows, Felicia said, “My parents didn’t like Adam. He looked like Axl Rose, and I was into his long hair, bandanas, and leather jackets. He was exactly the type of guy they didn’t want me to bring home.” Adam added, “When her parents said they didn’t want to be a part of it anymore, we decided to get married anyway.”
Felicia continued, “We planned a small, beautiful ceremony. We wrote our own vows, which we keep in a jar on the dresser. At that moment, all I knew was that I wanted to be his wife. If people wanted to join us, great, but at the end of the day, I was focused on becoming Mrs. Adam.”
When asked about how she felt about her parents not attending their wedding, Felicia said, “It hurt that they didn’t come.” Talking about celebrating their wedding vows, she said, “I texted my mom because I want her involved in what I’m doing. I didn’t invite her to my first dress fitting because I assumed she didn’t want to be there. I hoped she would show up, but I’m not sure.
“My mom and I used to be best friends, and her being there would mean the world to me. But I don’t think she’ll come.”
In an interview with Hooked on the Look, Adam admitted to his troubled past. “I used to be a bad boy and been arrested If i went back to the and did the numbers, I have probably been sentenced between 15-20years in prison and i have done approximately 11yrs I have probably been arrested somewhere between 100 or 150 times, i cannot even count the number of charges that i have been charged with and i have 5 felonies on the record and i made the decision that this is it and my life has to change or I’m gonna die in one of these rooms I said to myself time to grow up i cant live this way anymore.”
